vialima1I will start off by stating that the Peruvian cuisine offered at Via Lima is some of the best I have ever experienced.  Owner, Eni Cadena has out did herself at representing Peru’s flavors in the plates offered at Via Lima, the native ingredients such as savory corn and chili peppers make the meals unique and flavorful. Peru’s flavors represent the combination of four continents such as Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.

I recommend starting the tasting adventure at Via Lima with the Peruvian Pisco Sour, it is the iconic drink of Peru and I can tell you from my experience at Via Lima, it will be nearly impossible to stop at just one Pisco Sour. Yes, it is that good!

I would suggest after enjoying multiple Pisco Sours to indulge in a variety of the small plates at Via Lima.  I was fortunate to be able to experience:

Causitas– potato cakes topped with meat

Huancaina-potatoes in spicy yellow sauce

Cerviches-marinated fish

Anticuchos-brochettes

Each one of these small plates were amazingly unique, full of flavor and caused me to fall in love with Peruvian food more and more as I took each bite. I felt as if I was transported to Peru and my palate was exploding with joy!

I then moved onto the entrees which were beyond outstanding, in terms of superior Peruvian food….Via Lima is it! I was able to feast on:

Chupe de Camarones-shrimp chowder

Lomo Saltado-wok seared tenderloin

Aji de Gallina-chicken and walnut sauce (one of owner, Eni’s favorites)

On top of the incredible menu offered at Via Lima, they are now offering a Peruvian brunch. The tapas/family style brunch will include Peruvian sandwiches, empanadas, tamales and many other Peruvian classics! Be sure to call and ask for details. Marta, restaurant Manager is more than willing to answer any questions patrons may have and she does an outstanding job making sure the dining experience is the very best it can be! Customer service is impeccable at Via Lima.

Via Lima does take reservations, they offer delivery and takeout and parking is available in the back for an easy and comfortable dining experience. Overall, I give Via Lima 5 stars and is on my best of Peruvian restaurant list!
